WRMC Launches Obstetric Emergency Department

Fayetteville — Washington Regional has introduced a new obstetric (OB) emergency department located in its Women and Infants Center to increase access to care for pregnant patients with 24/7 care from a team of board-certified obstetricians. In addition to providing care for pregnant patients who seek care in the OB emergency department, these obstetricians will also act as OB hospitalists, providing care for laboring patients at the Women and Infants Center until their OB/GYN arrives. They will also deliver babies of patients who do not have an OB/GYN.

Fayetteville — Arkansas cattle producers are being urged to check their herds for unusual ticks and take measures to prevent transmission of theileriosis or other tick-related diseases. The warnings follow the recent finding of additional Asian longhorned ticks in northwest Arkansas by scientists with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.

Flippin passes Mutual Aid ordinance

On Tuesday, June 21, the Flippin City Council met in the Courtroom at Flippin City Hall at 6 p.m. Joe Cantrall, Tony Ford, Heith Hogan, and Tim McEuen were present for the meeting. Jerald Marberry was absent from the meeting. Hogan led the council meeting by opening the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a short prayer.
