Harrison- The National Park Service (NPS) has released an Environmental Assessment (EA) that analyzes a county and state led effort to reconstruct and repave the 1.8-mile section of Cave Mountain Road (Newton County Road 9560) that crosses Buffalo National River’s Park boundaries. The proposed project is designed to reduce environmental impacts of the current road and improve access. It is funded by the State of Arkansas with the road work to be completed by the Newton County Roads Department.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) is taking action to prevent the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) from allowing illegal immigrants to use immigration enforcement documents, such as arrest warrants, as identification when boarding commercial flights.

Mountain Home– As of today, there are 552 active COVID-19 cases in Baxter County, which is what we hope to be the beginning of a downward trend. There are currently 32 COVID-19 patients admitted at Baxter Regional, with 7 in ICU and 5 on ventilators. There are 27 Baxter Regional employees with active COVID-19, at home and in isolation.

Yellville- Marion County 4-H will conduct a series of introductory 4-H Livestock Project Workshops for kids ages 5-19 who are interested in exhibiting an animal at the Marion County Fair, according to Extension 4-H Agent Billie Collins.

Little Rock- Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today announced that a Pulaski County Circuit Court granted the State’s motion for relief against Jayson Cotter of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Cotter conducted business under the name Investment Grade Firearms (IGF). The court found that Cotter defrauded 12 Arkansas consumers and ordered him to pay $28,884 in restitution to consumers and $150,000 in civil penalties. In 2019, Attorney General Rutledge filed suit against Cotter, for violations of the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
