Hey Y’all! Welcome back to the kitchen with me and my little family. You know we have been so busy in the garden, and it truly is a blessing to be able to teach my girls all about growing your own food from tiny seeds. They really love learning all about how the plants first grow roots in the soil so they can get water and nutrients to continue growing and give us food.

A free Drug Prevention Conference has been scheduled for July 25, at the Signature Bank Community Room located at 303 North Main Street, Harrison. The objective is to instruct how to prevent substance use or misuse in our communities.

On July 5, 1947, Larry Doby made his debut with the Cleveland Indians, becoming the first Black player in the American League three months after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in the National League. (In the game against the Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park, Doby, pinch-hitting for Bryan Stephens, struck out in his first at-bat during the seventh inning; Chicago won 6-5.)

LITTLE ROCK – Historic Arkansas Museum will host its 2nd Ever Hop-Off competition on Friday, July 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at its historic grounds, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock. The Hop-Off, a friendly competition for the best historic homebrew in town, takes place during the museum’s 2nd Friday Art Night, a monthly event that is free and open to the public.

Charlie Melton, Coach Yellville Pee-Wee Football and Cheer forms can be picked up starting July 6 at the Yellville City Hall. The deadline for signups is July 24. Anyone interested in helping coach either third-fourth grand team or fifth-sixth grade team will need to fill out the coach’s application and return it to City Hall.
