This Week at the MCSO

Gregg Alexander, Marion County Sheriff Deputies responded to forty-four calls for service that included four domestic disturbances, five property checks, one felony arrest and three misdemeanor arrests. Deputies completed twenty-six incident reports and investigated four motor vehicle crashes. A deputy completed week ten of twelve weeks of the basic police academy at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden.

Arkansas Department of Agriculture Announces Arkansas Farmers Market Promotion Program Recipients

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Agriculture (Department) is pleased to announce the grant recipients of the eighth annual Arkansas Farmers Market Promotion Program. This program, which is administered by the Department and funded by the Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas, provides funding assistance to build awareness for farmers markets and their vendors.

Saturday Storm Damage

Storms raced across Marion County Saturday and pictured here is a fallen tree snapping power lines. The power lines lay across Hwy. 14 North of Sailor Hollow Terrace. Entergy was enroute to restore power and clear the scene.

Right to Repair

Colorado’s first-in-the-nation law allowing farmers to repair their own equipment could be “the first chink in the armor” that has allowed only manufacturers to complete some repairs, said Rusty Rumley, senior staff attorney for the National Agricultural Law Center.
