Planning for the future

We hear a lot of talk in our lives about planning for the future. Much of that talk starts in our youth as we start to invest in our adult lives. Once we reach adulthood the conversation becomes very financial oriented as we begin to save money for retirement, save for purchasing a house, save for having children, save for vacations and save for everyday life. As overwhelming as financial planning can be, we also are planning for many other things in our lives.

Grants Available for Nonprofits

Little Rock– Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation, in partnership with Arkansas Community Foundation, is awarding grants to programs that benefit African American or other underserved populations in Arkansas. Nonprofits with programs focusing on education, health and wellness, youth development, strengthening families and economic development are eligible to apply. Grants that mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on these areas will also be considered.

Almost 80% of school districts with significant Covid 19 issues

Despite a few signs that the Omicron Wave of infections may have peaked in parts of the United States, Covid-19 hospitalization in Arkansas surged yesterday (Wednesday) to a new pandemic high of 1,819. An official at the Arkansas Department of Health noted that because the state in not tracking positive results from at-home tests, the number of infections reported daily by the agency is only “the tip of the iceberg,” and urged Arkansans to continue to take precautions.
