Communications LITTLE ROCK – During the summer, temperatures can soar. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports an average of 702 heat-related deaths per year and over 9,000 heat-related hospitalizations annually.
The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville held its monthly meeting June 8, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 1800 hours by Dustin Beals Commander. The opening prayer was given by Teddy Beaudin, Chaplain.
Gregg Alexander, Marion County Sheriff Deputies responded to forty-four calls for service that included four domestic disturbances, five property checks, one felony arrest and three misdemeanor arrests. Deputies completed twenty-six incident reports and investigated four motor vehicle crashes. A deputy completed week ten of twelve weeks of the basic police academy at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden.

Dustin Beals, USMC Dustin Beals served 4-years in the United States Marine Corp and is the Post #61 American Legion Commander in Yellville. Dustin has served as a Marion County Deputy and is currently serving on the Flippin City Police Department.
LITTLE ROCK – Commissioner of State Lands Tommy Land announced that his office will auction taxdelinquent parcels located in Boone, Marion, Newton and Searcy Counties on August 1. The regional auction begins at 10 a.m.
PUEBLO, COLORADO – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) today announced its 2024 competition schedule for its elite Unleash The Beast, set to bring the world’s Top 40 bull riders and rankest bovine athletes to 25 cities across 20 states.
Charlie Melton, Coach Yellville Pee-Wee Football and Cheer forms can be picked up starting July 6 at the Yellville City Hall. The deadline for signups is July 24. Anyone interested in helping coach either third-fourth grand team or fifth-sixth grade team will need to fill out the coach’s application and return it to City Hall. LITTLE ROCK – Historic Arkansas Museum will host its 2nd Ever Hop-Off competition on Friday, July 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at its historic grounds, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock. The Hop-Off, a friendly competition for the best historic homebrew in town, takes place during the museum’s 2nd Friday Art Night, a monthly event that is free and open to the public.
