Contract Pilot Lands George H. Dunklin Award

PINE BLUFF – Rocky Thornburg has been flying duck surveys long before any of the current Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists conducting surveys were on the agency payroll. A pilot based in Pine Bluff; Thornburg began flying low-altitude aerial waterfowl surveys in 1992 to allow AGFC staff to count ducks in the state.

Public Works issues dominated the March 2, 2022, Bull Shoals City Council meeting, which was rescheduled due to the sleet storm from February 24. Public Works Director Shane O’Grady said in his report the Department’s vehicle situation is dire, with Mayor David Nixon agreeing.

Big Creek Golf & Country Club is undertaking a major kitchen remodel and expansion of the cooking areas. Chef John Kellogg has ordered a much larger, 10-burner Vulcan Range, a new char broiler, and new countertop griddles and fryers. This equipment was delivered last week. We also have a brandnew 10’X12’ walk-in freezer that was delivered last week.

Little Rock – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today announced she is allocating $500,000 to the Law Enforcement Family Relief Trust Fund. The fund, established in Act 765 of 2021 under the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, is designated for families of fallen officers who are killed in the line of duty or those who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
