The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday August 14, 2025, at 7 p.m. The location will be in the Marion County Annex courtroom located at 105 S. Berry St., Yellville. The public and members are invited to attend.

U of A Celebrates Spring 2025 Graduates
FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas honored its most recent graduating class with a series of spring commencement ceremonies at Bud Walton Arena and Barnhill Arena, and the School of Law’s ceremony at the Fayetteville Town Center.
Bressler found Unresponsive

Alexander, Sheriff Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on July 24, 2025, the Marion County Emergency 911 Center (E911) received a call reporting an unresponsive person in a vehicle at the Yellville Post Office. Medical personnel responded and found Wilson Kirk Bressler (48 Years of Age) of Harrison, on the ground next to his vehicle with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in progress by the caller.
Human remains found in Oakland fire Investigation
By Gregg L. Alexander, Sheriff On July 10, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a fire scene at a residence located on MC Road 145 in the Oakland area. On arrival deputies requested assistance from Investigators who subsequently responded to the scene to begin their investigation.

MCL Introduces Librarian; meet Kasi
By Echo Staff The Marion County Library experienced tough times and exited the turmoil in a rebuilding phase. One of the final pieces of the bouncing back process was to hire a new librarian. The process was long and daunting, but the library found the person they wanted and hired Kasi Casteel-Manes to be the head librarian.
