LITTLE ROCK—Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge hosted today the 3rd annual statewide Elder Abuse Conference at The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock. More than 150 attendees heard from the experts about issues faced by loved ones and the providers who assist seniors and adults with developmental disabilities. “Too many times our seniors have experienced despicable abuse,” said Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. “It is my office’s responsibility to protect the state’s elderly and disabled population from abuse, neglect and financial exploitation–a duty I do not take lightly.”

Sharing New Big Print Books Bull Shoal Library has six cartons of new-to-them large print books thanks to the generosity of libraries in Van Buren, Arkansas. When the Van Buren libraries needed to cull their books to make space for new volumes, they donated their excess books to the Library in Bull Shoals.

On August 15, 2022, a dispatch was ordered to 616 Marilyn Avenue, Bull Shoals. The dispatch was regarding an active Breaking and Entering and removing items from the property in progress. While in route to the designated area, Officers received other calls about this incident, so officers proceeded in route to the address.

The people of Bull Shoals have supported a local library since 1981 when North Arkansas Regional Library retired a small bookmobile for Bull Shoals to use as a Library, according the The History of Bull Shoals by Robert Harper. The Social Concerns Committee of the United Methodist Church ran the bookmobile as a service to the community. It was replaced by a larger bookmobile in 1984.
