Arkansas Proclaims LOCAL QUILT SHOP DAY

Little Rock– In recognition of the importance of independent quilt shops to local economies, Saturday January 22, 2022, is proclaimed to be Local Quilt Shop Day throughout Arkansas. Local Quilt Shop Day is an annual arts celebration focusing on the rich tradition and history of quilting in our communities.

Little Rock– Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge is standing alongside attorneys general from across America today taking their case against President Biden’s illegal vaccine mandates for large employers and healthcare workers all the way to the United States Supreme Court. Arkansas joined 26 states in urging that the Supreme Court block Biden’s overreaching mandates.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) joined Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Mike Braun (R-IN) and congressional Republicans in filing an amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) regarding today’s case considering the Biden Administration’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) vaccine mandate.

Backwood Rebel will perform at the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts on January 22, 2022. It is on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the doors open at 6 p.m. This show is a free event, but we do ask for a donation at intermission to help cover the cost of the band and the facility.

The Yellville City Council, along with Mayor Shawn Lane, worked diligently at its first meeting of the year to cover certain matters effecting the city throughout the year. First to be accepted by council members Lorna Goodwin, Vickie Fogerty, Layton Lee and Clark Gustin was the adoption of the rules and procedures for each meeting, stating meetings would continue the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m.

Marion County witnessed the first snowfall of the winter on Thursday, January 6, 2022, bring many children glee and drivers headaches. The first bout of snow came in early Thursday, as Old Man Winter woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
