The members of Yellville Masonic Lodge No. 117 (chartered in 1858) would like to thank all those people and businesses that helped make this year’s community support events successful. Specifically, Allen’s Grocery in Summit, Flower’s Bakery in Harrison, the families of Debbie Grinder, and Misty Haynes, as well as all those Freemasons who help in their characteristically discreet way, are all owed a big thank you!

When I walk into our canteen and look around there is a sea of veterans from in their 30’s to in their 80’s. I know them all at least by their first names and a lot of them by their last names. When I pull into the parking lot of Harps and Wal-Mart, I see veteran license plates on numerous vehicles.

Veterans Day is November 11. The Mountaineer Echo, Cotter Schools teachers and administration, along with students and parents would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all Veterans for the sacrifices made in defense of the United States of America.

On Veterans Day, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we celebrate those living who have served our great nation in all branches of our armed forces both in peace time and in war. Because of their deeds and sacrifices we continue to live in a country that has freedoms that most countries don’t.
