Who Cares About Bull Shoals Library?

The people of Bull Shoals have supported a local library since 1981 when North Arkansas Regional Library retired a small bookmobile for Bull Shoals to use as a Library, according the The History of Bull Shoals by Robert Harper. The Social Concerns Committee of the United Methodist Church ran the bookmobile as a service to the community. It was replaced by a larger bookmobile in 1984.

ME welcomes Mason to Flippin Sept. 1

Peggy Mason has been hired by CherryRoad Media to work at the Mountaineer Echo (ME) as a Part-Time Reporter and Photographer. Mason has been working as a stringer or freelance reporter and photographer for the past 14 months and was the photographer for the award-winning front page photo that won the Mountaineer Echo the award for Best Front Page at the Arkansas Press Association awards ceremony in June.

Arkansas Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have fallen 6.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.31/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 46.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 48.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 7.3 cents in the last week and stands at $5.04 per gallon.

FI Awarded Grant to Help Arkansas Small Businesses

Little Rock – Forge Institute announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as one of three (3) awardees of the Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program. The funding allows the Arkansas Cyber Defense Center (ACDC) – which launched last spring – to further build capacity and expand critical cybersecurity services to address the escalating cyber-attacks targeting small businesses.
