Area schools present programs to honor Veteran that served in the defense the United States. Veteran’s Day is Friday, November 11, and the Flippin School District, Yellville-Summit and Bruno-Pyatt will host ceremonies.

This week, we would like to pay tribute to Caleb Shaw and Hudson Adams, two seniors from Cotter High School, who held a fundraiser at their school to benefit the animals at Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter. They collected 219 pounds of dog food, 143 pounds of cat food, 31 pounds of treats as well as toys, blankets, bandannas, and pee pads. When people speak disparagingly about the younger generation, they need to know there are still a lot of great, caring kids out there. A big, heartfelt “Thank you!” to Hudson and Caleb. You rock.

In what proved to be a calm and brief session, the Bull Shoals City Council met in regular session Thursday, October 27, with all Councilmen, Mayor David Nixon, and Recorder Tina Bailey in attendance.
