IRT (Innovative Readiness Training)
The Air Force Reserve, in partnership with the underserved cities of Yellville, Mountain Home, and Marshall of Arkansas, will furnish military professionals with medical, logistics, Personnel Support for Contingency Operations (PERSCO), Force Support Squadron (FSS), communications, public affairs, Joint Operations Center (JOC), plans, leadership, and chaplain training to increase overall unit deployment readiness.

PMVFD to hold BBQ Fundraiser
Studying in the Grove on the University of Mississippi campus. Pine Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is holding a BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, June 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
TLCF awards grant to FSD
The Twin Lakes Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation recently awarded the Flippin High School Art Club a $2,000.00 Giving Tree Endowment grant. Arkansas Community Foundation assets rank among the top 60 out of more than 800 community foundations in the United States. The Arkansas Community Foundation serves the entire state.
Flippin Boot Collection
The firefighters from the City of Flippin met on Saturday, June 2, to take up a collection and gather donations by taking the firefighters boot to collect as much in donations from area residents passing through the intersection at 1st Street and Main Street in Flippin.
Y-S GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Yellville-Summit High School Athletic Department is hosting the a Two-Man Scramble benefit golf tournament at Diamond Hills Country Club. The Tournament is scheduled for June 10, with check-in at 8:00 a.m.
MC Budget Committee meets
by Robert Lyons Thursday, June 1, the Marion County Budget Committee met to discuss potential ordinances to be sent to the Marion County Quorum Court Meeting on Tuesday, June 13. Marty Nickels chaired the meeting in the absence of Joyce McCalla, committee chairperson.
67th Wedding Anniversary at Chen’s
Bob and Tywllah Schauer celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary at Chen’s Garden Chinese restaurant in Mountain Home last week. The celebration last year was called off due to health events for the pair.
