CLEVELAND – As public libraries continue their mission to serve their communities, a major milestone was reached for the most popular ebook, audiobook, magazine and comics app for library patrons: one billion digital books borrowed in Libby, the library reading app. The Libby app, created by OverDrive, is used in over 22,000 public libraries and thousands of colleges, universities, corporate libraries and learning centers.

Arkansas Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have risen 6.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.14/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 36.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 16.1 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 5.4 cents in the last week and stands at $4.65 per gallon.

Mosley, MD, Joins WR Emergency Dept.

He will also serve as the program director for the UAMS/Washington Regional emergency medicine residency program, which is currently being developed.

Women Business Owners are Optimistic

StatePoint Media StatePoint - Even as they ride out inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions and economic uncertainty, women owners and executives of small and mid-size majority-women-owned businesses have an optimistic outlook about the near-term future of their businesses, according to a recent survey. The PNC Bank survey found that women business owner (WBO) expectations for their own companies remain strong, with 41 percent feeling highly optimistic -- up from 29 percent in the fall of 2020 but down from 67 percent in the fall of 2021 -- while the share of those feeling pessimistic has held constant at just 1 percent.

Y-S applies for funding

Yellville-Summit School district intends to apply for funding to continue the 21st CCLC program. The Nita M. Lowey Arkansas 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty schools.
