On July 22, the Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center, in partnership with the Arkansas Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the National Wild Turkey Federation, hosted the NWTF Yellville National and Arkansas State Wild Turkey Calling Contest. 35 entrants competed in six categories and showed off their amazing talents as they “called those turkeys”.

Coming to our stage for the first time is country artist Marty Brown. Country singer and songwriter Marty Brown has been entertaining country music lovers since the early 90s when he signed to MCA Records.

Terry and Regina Phillips and family earned the honor of being named the 2023 Marion County Farm Family by the Arkansas Farm Bureau and represent many generations of Phillips family farming in Everton, Arkansas. The county winners for the 76th annual Farm Family of the Year for Marion County is the Phillips Family of Everton, Arkansas.

By Cindy Wood Young Continuing from last week with some of my memories about church activities of my youth... As I mentioned, for some of those years I attended the Christian Church on Main Street and, later, the Baptist Church on Alford Street.

The family enjoys a life that includes celebrating each other with birthday parties and supporting one another. Terry and Regina are enjoying watching the children succeed and grandchildren grow up in Arkansas.

This week we would like to recognize and thank the members of the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) mission. The United States Department of Defense, in partnership with the Delta Regional Authority, brought no cost medical services to the Twin Lakes area with the IRT.
