Many trees’ species used in agroforestry are nitrogenfixing, replenishing this key nutrient to the soil.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its first monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner of 2024 this coming Friday, January 5 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.

Has there been a disappearance of grasslands in our area over the last several years? Why has this happened? What can we do about it? While the information I am going to supply in this article refers to neighboring states, many principles can be enacted in our area due to many of the same climate conditions. Grasslands come in various forms — wetland bogs, rocky barrens, lush prairies, even woodlands — anywhere the tree cover is sparse enough to allow grasses, flowers and other small plants to flourish.
