To ensure their survival, it is crucial to allow flexibility in rental periods beyond what the current ordinance permits.

I wrote this article in June of 2012. This week the dream has finally come to be a reality. We are calling it the Big Piney Nature Center and Museum. And yes, it is much like the dream expressed in this column. On Saturday, June 28 we will open the doors to the public for our first big event. I am deeply troubled that Republicans in our state are rushing to sign a reconciliation bill that will hurt us so much. Rick Crawford just voted at 6 a.m. on Thursday May 22 to pass the bill our felon president wants desperately passed so that 3.8 trillion can go to the upper 10% while raising taxes on the lower 10 %. The bill has many poison pills within it. Cuts will take 40 million off food assistance; 9 million will lose healthcare due to Medicaid cuts (that the president said wouldn’t happen—liar).
