Greta “Jean” Hurtt, 72, of Diamond City, peacefully passed away at her home, on November 22, 2025, with her husband Larry by her side. She was born on October 1, 1953, in Batesville, the daughter of Jim and LaVada (Haggard) Barnes. A memorial Service honoring the life of Greta Jean Hurtt will be held on December 13, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at Southern Hills Missionary Baptist Church, located at 178 James Way in Harrison.

Michael Belyea

Michael Edward Belyea, or better known as “Good Ole Mike Belyea,” passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 52. To his daughters Sophie and Alyssa, he was more than a father—he was their steady place in the world, their biggest supporter, and their closest friend.

Lucille Kappler of Lampe, Missouri

Lucille (Lu) M. Kappeler (Masson), 107, of Lampe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, from natural causes at the Countryside at Rock Springs in Harrison. She was born on March 5, 1918, in Chicago, to Maxime Masson (d.1953) and Leontine (Hudon) Masson (d.1972). Lu was the youngest of 14 siblings (11 of whom were males). Marie (d.1954) was the oldest female with Lu being the youngest.
