The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will host a slate of events observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month throughout the month of April. Activities will be coordinated by the UAFS offices of Title IX; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Student Activities, and Athletics, the Campus Activities Board registered student organization; and the UAFS Boreham Library.
Six Yellville-Summit High School FBLA members competed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 4-5 in Little Rock. Sophomore Cara Bear placed 3rd in International Business and now has the opportunity to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Chicago this summer.

The Senate unanimously advanced the Boozman-led measures in March.
To my way of thinking, there are three seasons – baseball, the overlay of hockey and college basketball, and the brief, grim time in late fall when the first has ended and the second hasn’t really gotten going yet.
March 8 is International Women’s Day. Don’t ask me how I know this. I just do. So let us speak of Woman, specifically the International Woman. I like her. Very much. In my opinion She deserves much more than a day. But time waits for no man. Or woman, it seems. So… let’s get to it.

In my life, prayer has been something I have usually preserved between God and me. Like many who believe in prayer, I’ve asked for help in my weakest or most fearful moments and in handling personal issues and the health of loved ones, friends and myself. I request assistance on matters that I feel I can’t handle alone, things I haven’t said to anyone, but in my prayers. I’ve certainly asked for forgiveness for any wrongdoings I may have committed. I talk to Him about world events that trouble me as I’m sure many others do as well. A relationship with the Lord is very personal. One thing I’ve tried to remain mindful of when talking with Him is to say “thank you” for my many blessings. Prayer shouldn’t be one-sided and a “what can you do for me?” request all the time. And I try to remember that a prayer left unanswered is an answer and is a part of His plan for me.

Yellville– Walk Across Arkansas is back for its spring event March 14– May 15. The eight-week exercise program is organized each spring and fall by the Cooperative Extension Service, part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, with the goal of helping Arkansans improve their health.
