Hello, I hope this week finds everyone in good health and happy spirits. We are all doing well here. My son made it in from his extended job out of state so we are all blessed he will be home for the holidays. Can’t believe this month is going so fast, Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. So, it’s time to get your dinner shopping done before the stores run out of everything. As always enjoy time with your family and Enjoy the Little Things.
Boozman Statement Commemorating Veterans Day
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman released the following statement in commemoration of Veterans Day: “As the son of a veteran, I know brave, honorable Americans have defended our freedom for generations. These men and women gave so much, in some cases their very lives, and deserve our support, respect and admiration. This Veterans Day, we once again take the opportunity to express tremendous gratitude to every former servicemember – especially those in The Natural State who are such vital parts of our families and communities. We can never fully repay them, but they will always have our appreciation for serving and sacrificing to protect our nation.”

The Baxter Regional Auxiliary is sponsoring a sale by The T-Shirt Ladies & More on Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22. The sale is taking place in the Lagerborg Dining Room of the Baxter Regional Cafeteria.
Hopper back in Bull Shoals
Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts is back at the Theater Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. With a crowd favorite anywhere, they go. We are glad to have them back The Jerry Hopper Band: Jerry Hopper grew up on country music and a “little bit of rock-in-roll”. He mastered the guitar at a young age, playing with his dad and other seasoned local musician. While still a teenager, he played with Bob Carson and the Monkey Run Boys, a local band known as the Stingrays, and later form the group Mighty Fines He recorded his first album in Nashville in 1983, and through the years has made four additional country and 3 gospel albums.

Saturday, November 5, 2022, There will music back at the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts. We have moved to Saturday nights from 7 p.m.
Before I Got Old…
In Dad and Grandpa McNew’s country pool hall, the old timer’s they called the front bench regulars were the same age then that I am now. I recognize the similarities in them that I now figure is normal for me and others in their seventies. Out of 15 or 20 of those men who fit into the category of ‘old-timers’, there were men who still coon-hunted, trapped and paddled down the piney. Then there were some who could have but didn’t. That was a puzzlement for me, a thirteen-yearold kid back then who always wanted to and could have but had the problem of what Dad would allow. I didn’t always have enough money either when it came to buying ammo, and many of the old timers had that problem too. And of course, there were those who would have been out in the woods or on the river as they had always been, but age gave them a bad back or a ruined knee or an ‘ol lady’ who wouldn’t let them waste the money.
