LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas is making a massive public investment to bring broadband access to every corner of the state. Last year the state hired a consultant firm, Broadband Development Group (BDG), to develop a master plan.

Fayetteville — Washington Regional Medical Center has received an “A”, the highest grade possible, in the Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. This national distinction recognizes Washington Regional’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error while in the hospital.

Like many young girls (and, occasionally, some boys), my first full-time summer job was babysitting. I was 12 years old so it would have been the summer of 1969. Back then, I was always looking for ways to make money (which is a whole topic for a column on another day) and, as soon as I was old enough, I began babysitting (although not on school nights until I was in high school).

Mickey Gilley was born to Arthur Fillmore Gilley and Irene née Lewis Gilley in Natchez, Mississippi. Gilley’s first wife was Geraldine Garrett, whom he married in 1953, at 17 years old; they divorced in 1961. She was the mother of three of his four children; Keith Ray, Michael, and Kathy. Gilley’s second wife, whom he married in 1962, was Vivian McDonald, together they have a son, Gregory. Mickey and Cindy Loeb, his longtime friend and business associate, were married in June 2020.

Bill Howell is a retired (professional) Clay Target shooting instructor, that devotes one day a wee working with people who are interested in clay targe sports, especially Skeet and Sporting Clays. Howell has helped beginner through the advanced shooters, men, and women. It is something he really enjoys.
