Dreading Deer Season
On Saturday, there will be an army of people in the woods with high-powered rifles after white-tail deer. For some reason, I can never relax during deer season. I live in the woods, and it can be dangerous. Two Kansas City greenhorns have leased a neighbor’s land.
Leaves, What to do with them
It’s that time of year that leaves when leaves start to fall from the trees. What should we do with them? As a child I remember big piles of leaves raked up to play in, usually with cousins at grandparents’ house, but what happened to those leaves when we left?

A Salute to NCA Veterans
When I walk into our canteen and look around there is a sea of veterans from in their 30’s to in their 80’s. I know them all at least by their first names and a lot of them by their last names. When I pull into the parking lot of Harps and Wal-Mart, I see veteran license plates on numerous vehicles.
Lunch is on us
The U.S. Army is partnering with Bob’s Billiards and BBQ, next door to the Armed Forces Recruiting Station at 1310 Highway 62 West, Mountain Home, to provide free meals on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022.
