Mike Mills Named 2026 Ozarks Ambassador for Championing Arkansas’ Outdoors
By Micki Somers, Director of Public Relations/ Assistant Director Northark Foundation HARRISON – Mike Mills, a pioneer of tourism, will be recognized as the 2026 Ozarks Ambassador at the North Arkansas College Foundation Evening on the Plaza event for his public service benefiting Harrison and the region. Established in 1990, the Ozarks Ambassador Award is presented annually to someone who has represented northern Arkansas with distinction in one or more of the following fields: agriculture, finance, medicine, education, the arts, politics, law, business, social services, the ministry, or industry.

By Cindy Young A crowd of over 160 people turned out Monday night, September 14, to hear and meet Hallie Shoffner, Democratic candidate for United States Senate. Although the event was hosted by the Democratic Party of Marion County, Shoffner pointed out that many Arkansans consider themselves to be independent voters. “And that’s okay,” she added. “You don’t have to change your party to change your Senator.”
