John Yockey of Flippin

John Franklin Yockey of Flippin, Arkansas, age 68, died November 20, 2022, at his home. John was born in Lawton, Oklahoma June 26, 1954, to Charles Robert and Virginia Ruth Yockey.

He was a resident of Russellville, Arkansas most of his life. John graduated from Russellville High School and Arkansas Tech earning a degree in geology. John was an aviation enthusiast.

After earning his pilot’s license he built his own Rutan designed Long-EZ aircraft. John loved the White River where he made his home. He cherished times fishing for trout with family and friends.

John is survived by sister, Michal Hall (Bill) of Delaware; brothers: Robert Yockey (Beth) of Greenbrier, and Walter Yockey (Terri) of Rogers; nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date with a private family service.
